Hi there,

I hope you are enjoying your break from the football season and keeping fit and well.
We would like to take this opportunity to let you know what has been happening.
The Club held its AGM with a new executive and general committee elected, they are:

The Committee has already met twice this year and has started the ball rolling for 2008.

What's new for 2008 -

  1. Shorts & Socks:  Please note that for the 2008 season all players shorts and socks Must be supplied by the NFL appointed supplier. So don’t go and buy these as they must be purchased through the club. We have to purchase them in advance. We will be stocking apx 350 pairs of white shorts, 350 pairs of maroon shorts and apx 400 pairs of socks. We will sell these on a the price we buy them at. Apx $45 for all three items. This is a League Rule!
  2. Teams:  14 teams have been registered at the moment: 2 x 9’s, 2 x 10’s, 2 x 11’s, 2x12’s, 2 x 13’s, 1 x 14’s,1 x 15’s and 2 x 17’s. From 13’s up there will be an A & B situation The teams will be selected from the squad by the Coaches of each team and the football committee. ( All Info will be available next year).  We will have teams in Division 2 and Division 3.
  3. Fees:  Players fees: there will be a slight increase from last year, this is mainly due to the fact that we have put our insurance up to Gold and our fees to the NFL almost doubled last year. At this point in time they will be as: 
    $110 for 1 child, $180 for 2, $230 for 3 and $ 290 for 4. (These prices are not Finalised as yet). 
    ** Note fees must be payed in full by Round 3 **
  4. Players Apparel:  Upon payment of fees, each player will receive a Club  ‘Hooded Windcheater” this is covered with the fees. We will also have a stock Of Club : Jackets, Bags, polo’s and Caps for sale in children’s and adult sizes.
  5. Sausage Sizzle:  As per 07 we will have a sausage sizzle each Friday night after training (which we will need volunteers for) We will also try to start up Sunday Arvo game day Wrap ups.
  6. Team outings:  We are looking at the idea that each team may have a Club Funded outing one Friday night during the season eg: Swimming, Indoor volley ball, or maybe go to an AFL match.
  7. Pre season:  U/17’s dec 10th & 17th, then break for Xmas, 17’ and 15’s will restart aprox Jan 21st. All teams will be on Monday & weds nights until aprox March when we will return to Weds & Friday nights.  ( Keep an eye on website for updates re training)

Auskick:  Will again be running at the club for 2008 for ages from preps to Grade 6.  Registration is expected to be in March at our normal location at Mill Park Stables Shopping centre and possibly another venue yet to be decided. Coaches for 2008 -

The club is proud to announce the following appointments for next year.

U/9 Blue  -  Vin Firth, we welcome Vin back after having a year off, Vin took the 10’s to the finals in 2006.

U/9 Gold  -  George Yankos, we wish George all the best in his first year as a coach

U/10 Blue  -  Mark McNeil, Welcome back to Mark, this will be Marks 3rd year with the club.

U/10 Gold  -  Brian Cornwell, back for a second year with Andrew as his partner welcome back guys.

U/11.Blue   -  Vacant

U/11 Gold  -  Andrew Failla, again the bug has bitten as Andrew suits up for a 2nd year.

U/12 Blue  -  Mick Jones, back for another year with a Flag added to his bag.

U/12. Gold  -  Jamie Lunt, after a great season making the finals with the 11gold team, Jamie steps up to the 12’s

U/13A  -  Joe Scacco, this will be Joes first year as a head coach with the club and we wish him well.

U/13B  -  Dave Russell, about to take on his 3rd year as a head coach, good luck Dave.

U/14  -  Vacant.

U/15  -  Gary Hall, this will be Garys 3rd year straight, we look forward to seeing the continual development of the boys.

U/17A  -  Dean Easton, we are wrapped to have the services of another experienced coach to lead our 17’s. Dean has played and Coached over 250 senior league games. His last role was 2nds coach at Northcote Park in Div 1 2007.

U/17B  -  Andrew Burfitt, after taking the15’s to a preliminary final in his first year, we welcome Andy back for his 2nd year, this time with the 17’s.

As you can see we still have a couple of spots to fill, again if any body is interested please give us a call.
