The Lion's Tale

HI All,

Round one has been and gone already with some promising results. In all, 8 wins for the day was a great start to the season. Better luck next week for those that were unsuccessful on the weekend. A big weekend of football this week with 9 teams at home. Hoping for some more good results.
Good luck everybody!

2008 Fees -

All fee’s must be paid in full by the start of Round 3 (Friday April 18th).
Unpaid fees will mean players will not be able to play until they are paid.

Friday night Sausage Sizzles -

Friday nights Barbeque will be rostered amongst the teams.

This week - Fri 11th - is Under 10 Blue.
Next Friday night - Fri 18th -  Under 10 Gold will be responsible for manning the barbeque.

The bar will also be open on Friday nights so why not stay on for a while and get to know your committee members and other parents of the SMJFC. Bar closes at 8.30pm but will remain open until 10.30pm on the first Friday of every month.

Tonight Friday 11th the bar will stay open until 10.30pm.  The next late Friday will be Friday May 2nd.

Canteen and Game Day Volunteers -

We require volunteers to help out in the canteen every Sunday. If every team provided just one helper one hour before their matches and one hour after their matches it would help the canteen manager enormously!  That is all we ask, it is not much and not very hard. We would also like some volunteers to help with the set up in the mornings. Again just one hour of your time can make all the difference.

All parents who volunteer their time during the season will go into a draw to receive free registration for your child for next season. This will be drawn at the end of year Dinner Dance.

Team Excursions -

In 2008 South Morang Junior Football Club will be sending every team on an excursion. The idea being to strengthen team bonds between players and their parents and to just have a bit of a break from normal training sessions. The Under 9's will be the first group to go and they are booked in for Rumbles Indoor play centre for next Wednesday 16th April. More information for the other teams will follow shortly.

Shorts & Socks-

More shorts and socks have been ordered and we are waiting on delivery. As soon as we have them we will let you know. For now it is Ok to wear last year's shorts and socks. If anybody who has there new apparel and still has old shorts and socks at home, if you are not using them can you please send them along to the club so we can pass them on to any new players who as of yet don't have correct coloured uniform. Thanks!
Anyone waiting on small size socks, hold onto the ones you have and don't wear them. Thankyou for your patience.
